Recurring projects and subtasks lose "Repeat" setting

Recurring projects and subtasks lose "Repeat" setting

Postby tb877 » Sat 14. Jun 2014, 15:08

Hi,

I'm seeing a bug that seems to happen quite randomly and that I can't reliably replicate, although I swear it's there as it has happened to me dozens of times. I'm seeking help from either other users who have seen it to be able to replicate it, or maybe from the dev itself if he has any clue about it.

I have a couple recurring projects with subprojects, subtasks and checklists going maybe 3-4 levels down and set to repeat with parent.Sometimes - I'd say about 1% of the time - either the project or the subtasks lose their "Repeat" setting by themselves, and thus either create an (empty) new instance of the project at the next repeat date, or do not create a new instance at all (if the project itself loses its "Repeat daily" setting, for instance).

This is quite annoying as I have to delete the newly created instance, go to completed tasks, un-complete them, restore all the "Repeat" settings and "Due dates" and complete them again.

Has anyone seen this as well?

I'm (automatically) syncing through Toodledo by the way.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,
I guess you have a Toodledo FREE account.

Projects with subtasks are not supported by Toodledo FREE accounts.
What does it mean? It means that you can't expect that everything works fine when it comes to deal with projects and subtasks.

My advice: use Toodledo only to create and update your tasks, but rely only on DGT GTD when you want to complete projects with subtasks.

I am currently only using toodledo's synchronisation to be able to pick up the local backup automatically created with foldersync and copy it on a network share (it's the only way I found to automatically backup over the network).

Hence, I'm never touching my toodledo account over the web interface. Could toodledo's sync still be the problem?

Thanks.

Ok, good, now let's focus on other options.

Uncheck the "Optionally on" checkbox in the DGT GTD Toodledo login view; "Floating" task will be be deleted by Toodledo when that option is enabled

I suggest to restart from a clean state viewtopic.php?f=3&t=224

Be aware that when you do a restore of a DGT GTD backup file, the next sync with Toodledo will perform a full sync/merge operation.
In rare cases it could end up with duplicates. Because of that, if you do a restore from a backup file then you have to delete the Toodledo tasks on the web app prior to start synching.

Okay I tried to recreate all my tasks from scratch, after clearing app's data completely. Today the problem showed up again..

Do you sync Outlook (or any other app) with Toodledo?
